Attorney Ricky Hutchens
Attorney Ricky Hutchens is the head of the bankruptcy department at the Reaves Law Firm PLLC. Attorney Hutchens is licensed in Tennessee.
Attorney Ricky Hutchens was born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee. After earning a Bachelor of Science degree in film production, Mr. Hutchens did freelance film and video production work.
To supplement his freelance income, Mr. Hutchens took a job with a local bankruptcy attorney. He would spend the next five years preparing bankruptcy petitions and helping clients navigate the bankruptcy process. During this time, Mr. Hutchens also earned a Master’s of Arts in Communications from the University of Memphis. It was at this point, that Mr. Hutchens decided to enroll in law school.
Mr. Hutchens received his law degree from Vanderbilt University Law School, which is recognized as one of the top twenty law schools in the country by U.S. News and World Report. Mr. Hutchens served as a notes editor on the Vanderbilt Law Review and was one of only twelve students in his class of nearly 180 to have a piece published in the distinguished law journal.
Upon graduating law school, Mr. Hutchens took a position as law clerk for the Honorable Shelley D. Rucker of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee. After two-and-a-half years, Mr. Hutchens decided it was time to return home to Memphis and became the law clerk for the Honorable David S. Kennedy, Chief Bankruptcy Judge for the Western District of Tennessee.
After clerking for Judge Kennedy for a year, Mr. Hutchens decided to enter private practice. He joined the Reaves Law Firm and established the firm’s bankruptcy department so that he could help people suffering from financial problems.
