Attorney Karlyn Washington
Karlyn Washington was born and raised in Memphis, TN. Upon graduating as Salutatorian of her class from Whitehaven High School, Ms. Washington enrolled in the University of Southern California, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration.
Ms. Washington received her law degree from the University Of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School Of Law, where she was President of the Black Law Students Association, a member of the Thurgood Marshall Mock Trial Team, and a member of the Association of Women Attorneys.
During her time in law school, she clerked for the Honorable Judge Bernice Donald of the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and the Honorable Judge Jerry Stokes of the Shelby County Circuit Court. She also participated in the Neighborhood Preservation Clinic and the Medical-Legal Partnership Clinic with LeBonheur Children’s Hospital.
Ms. Washington is an active member of the Phi Lambda Omega chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.
Ms. Washington joined the Reaves Law Firm to be a voice for others, especially in the community where she was born and raised. She wants to give back to the community that shaped the woman she has become today.
